Network Healthcare.

A little education and a lot of ground to cover.

Our network healthcare program is run by New Bridge for Cambodia, a registered Cambodian not-for profit organization.  The head of NBFCO, a Cambodian named Paul, is also the Cambodian national director for us (GWG).

Paul insisted there was no point running a school that all the children were too sick to attend.

Thus, network healthcare began.

Network Healthcare is comprised of one on-site in town clinic, located within our primary school in Siem Reap, as well as a mobile clinic that the nurse will take around the surrounding community and out to our water project site (a rural location just outside Siem Reap).

Our nurse will not only provide on-site medical assessments, treatments and appropriate medications, but aims to educate and organize her patients.

She has established an identity card program where all those who receive treatment obtain a card with their photo, information, pertinent health history and prescription history.

Everyone knows to make sure they present their ID card whenever a doctor visits (even if it’s not us- especially if it’s not us).

This allows her to establish a long term treatment plan, organize her patients, their needs and ensure that should another well-meaning group of doctors appear to provide voluntary service, a current medical dosage history is made available to them so that nobody is accidentally over-medicated or erroneously diagnosed  (a big problem with growing poverty and volun-tourism).

Nobody means ill, but over-medicating and misdiagnoses are serious issues with life-altering consequences.

We consider this our due diligence.

Be Better.
